The blue line demarcates the Homewood Eruv District. The Homewood Eruv is a project of the Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus and is sponsored by the Orthodox Union. Questions about the eruv should be directed at Rabbi Binyamin Marwick at bmarwick@jhu.edu or (410) 516-0441.
What is an eruv?
An eruv is a continuous boundary which physically and symbolically encloses an area. This enclosure, together with the rental of that area from a government official, permits Sabbath observant Jews to carry their belongings beyond their private domains on the Sabbath and other Jewish Holidays.
